INFINITY EQ

Infinity EQ is Slate Digital’s most advanced modern equalizer. With just a team of four, we were able to transform the narrative and visual language into one of inspiration. Starting with research into the psycology of why so many electronic music brands have turned to bright vibrant gradients with dark themes, we aimed to awe our audience and give them the tools to creatively express themselves.Website

Ifinitity EQ is Slate Digital’s first full dive into the developing all original product aimed toward the next generation of music makers. When I first began my journey, the internal development team had done an awesome job of laying the ground work (pictured above) for an awesome user experience, but needed help expanding the brand into something that could captivate a younger audience.

We drew inspiration from the vastness of space and used high contrast to invoke a sense of awe and curiosity. With every audible frequency assigned to a specific color at each point, we were able to define an informative visual system that is responsive to the user’s commands in real-time.

Expanding the vision into the physical world, we collaborated with production powerhouse, Slow Blink, to tell a story of Skylar, a young creative woman, making music at her home studio. With hours of treatment-writing, storyboarding, planning, and pre production, we shot this trailer one cold December evening. Shortly after Skyler enters her apartment, Infinity EQ takes over her power-grid, controlling her lights, and guiding her into an Alice-like digital rabbit hole while transforming her recent production with expressive and creative EQing.
